The Addilyn Austin Memorial Education Fund

An opportunity to share the message of strength and perseverance!

To become a follower of Jesus, one learns that strength and perseverance are essential.  St. John's Church has been around since 1896, in part, because of people's willingness to persevere in the never-ending pursuit of God's Truth through His son Jesus.  Furthermore, we recognize the importance of highlighting these traits in teachers and students: our future.

Addilyn "Addi" Emma Austin lived in North Carolina.  She attended St. John's Church on special occasions with her family.  Addi was described by her schoolteacher as "an old soul in a young body."  She wanted to be a scientist when she grew up. She treasured being a big sister and spending time with her family, loved doing and making things for others, and found so much joy in even the small things.  Addi had to endure tremendous suffering at the end of her life, but she continually demonstrated a will to overcome.

To honor the memory of the members of St. John's Church that found strength and persevered through the difficulties of sustaining a church, and to honor the memory of a seven-year-old girl that learned to overcome fear despite pain and uncertainty, we have launched the Addilyn Austin Memorial Education Fund.
