We have opportunities for you to get involved. We're especially excited about the ministries that are being planned. Come join us!
In 2013, members from St. John's Church, Whitmell Church of Faith, and Brosville United Methodist Church partnered in faith to begin a Backpack Ministry to serve the local community. Volunteers met monthly to pack bags of non-perishable food for approximately 80 elementary school students. Today, the ministry is offered to students in need at four schools in Pittsylvania County and we anticipate delivering 200 bags of food weekly during the 2024-2025 school year. You are important to us! If you attend our church and we have your address, you'll likely receive a card from us recognizing you on special occasions or to otherwise offer uplifting support as you journey to know Jesus.
Once every few months, typically around special holidays, volunteers from St. John's Church organize goodie bags or prepare meals that are taken to members no longer able to physically get to church. We want our friends in Christ to know that they are loved and that we continually pray for their peace and well-being.
When a member of St. John's Church is called home, our team of volunteers provide a meal for the family. We offer the use of church facilities and provide whatever support possible to the grieving family. Additionally, the church makes a monetary donation to a local charity in memory of the deceased member.
When life goes wrong and tragedy happens, volunteers from our church respond. From phone calls offering prayer or a listening heart, to delivering food to your home, we love you and the church is here to help.
We have exciting opportunities being planned. However, this section is reserved for a ministry idea that you may have. Come join us and begin sharing your ideas.
